XLIX. A bridge method for the investigation of non-linear resistor
G.T. Baker · The London Edinburgh and Dublin Philosophical Magazine and Journal of Science · 1946
Summary The investigation of non-linearity by means of the voltage-current relationship involves many difficulties. These are overcome by the use of two resistance parameters, the “steady” resistance (Rs=V/I) and the “fluctuation” resistance (RF=ΔV/∇I). RS and RF can be determined experimentally, and this provides a null method for evaluating the constants of non-linear resistors. In the case of the V=CIβ type of resistors, β can be read directly from the bridge at single current values.
