Graphic interfaces and online information

Abstract Despite the proliferation of Graphic User Interfaces (GUIs), particularly the growing popularity of the Apple Macintosh, there has been little provision for graphics interfacing to dial‐up online services. This paper reviews the growing importance of the Graphic User Interface, and describes an evaluation of Apple's HyperCard package as a potential interface to electronic mail and online commercial databases.
