Abstract The market opportunity for flat PC desktop monitors will be discussed in terms of the total market opportunity, display performance, screen size and addressability requirements, and the unique attributes which flatness and low power can offer. The evolution of market segmentation from specialized applications to mainstream products will be discussed in terms of the customer requirements needed to achieve this.
