Improved binaural sound reproduction

R. L. Wallace · The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America · 1975

When sound is picked up by a mannequin head equipped with Zwislocki inner ears and molded replicas of real human pinnae, it can be reproduced with a high degree of realism by using special headphones designed to produce a flat-frequency response as measured at the eardrum. A live demonstration of such pickup and reproduction will be given. Tape recordings of music recorded in this way will also be available for listening.
