This paper presents a visual content creation and manipulation system applied to a corpus of television archives. We focus on interactive visualization and navigation for a set of multimedia data. What is novel here is that visualization is user-tailored—it is structured by the criteria established by the user so that he can more easily locate his position in the data set and conduct information research. The application creates a 3D visual representation of the data contents. The data are multimedia -video, pictures, sound, and text. The current article presents generic tools used to obtain a three-dimensional visualization, which the user can parameterize. In addition, specially designed widgets are used to make visualization interactive. The prototype was developed in Java Swing and Java 3D.
