Overestimation in Linear Interval Equations

Arnold Neumaier · SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis · 1987

Bounds are given for the overestimation of the solution set of a system of linear interval equations by various inclusion intervals for this set. In particular, a theorem of Gay [this Journal, 19 (1982), pp. 858–870] on the quadratic approximation property of the preconditioned fixpoint inverse is strengthened.
