Thoughts on large scale programming projects

Developing a theory of software design and implementation has absorbed a great deal of effort in the computer business. In practice, the theory is often ignored or proven to be of no value. In the following, I attempt to develop a pragmatic approach to large scale software projects.The basic issues of management are left out of such discussions: the issues of involving employees in their job and generating an attitude in them that management values them as creative members of a team.
