The possibility of applying a wire in a helical form to a connector for automotive Wi-Fi(Wireless Fidelity) was suggested. The design of the connector in a helical form was conducted by the judgement that helical mean radius, helical pitch, helical wire radius, helix wire distance are important design factors. This analysis and result of design are able to be used to decide on the most suitable dimension for the design of a connector for automotive communication. The optimized connector for an automotive Wireless Access Vehicle Environment(WAVE) automobile in which a helical wire was inserted had insertion loss within - 0.76 dB in bandwidth of 5.925 GHz. The resulted figure of this insertion loss indicates the improvement of 21% in performance compared to a conventional connector. Therefore, the result of the analysis of the connector can be useful for designing an optimum connector in high-frequency bandwidth for automotive communication.
