Abstract Subjective study was conducted for 4K (3840 × 2160) video content on a true 4K LCD display to determine required bitrates to achieve various levels of perceived visual quality. State‐of‐the‐art H.264/ AVC and HEVC compression was used. Additionally performance of objective metrics for 4K video was evaluated.
