Issues in Programmatically Designing User Interfaces in JavaScript
Henry Larkin · 2014
Programmatically designing mobile interfaces is becoming more common in today's world of quick-to-market mobile applications. There are often elements of mobile interfaces that can only be created dynamically, through program code. However, the majority of approaches to creating user interfaces through program code are difficult to visualize, particularly in JavaScript. Declarative UI is one of the closest strategies currently available for programming interfaces in a visually easy-to-read way. However, there are issues when designing declarative interfaces, particularly for those in mobile applications where JavaScript and HTML create their own set of restraints and problems. This paper investigates the issues in creating a declarative user interface framework for JavaScript.
