CHARGE AMPLIFICATION, NOISE, AND CONSTANCY OF CHARGE-SENSITIVE FEEDBACK PREAMPLIFIERS

J. Dubrau · Kernenergie (East Germany) · 1962

A general investigation of linear amplifiers with charge amplification defined as the characteristic parameter was made. The charge amplification was calculated for all general imput circuits. The importart sources of noise were combined in an equivalent noise level, and the sensitivitydetermining parameters were calculated. It was shown that feedback affects the sensitivity through the circuit elements necessary for its realization. A comparison of the charge teedback amplifiers with voltage feedback amplifiers shows that the selection of the circuit depends on the constancy of the detector capacity. If the constancy of this capacity is less than the measurement accuracy desired, charge feedback is advantageous, whereas in all other cases voltage feedback is superior. (tr- auth)
