Properties of state matrixes representing time-invariant lossless n ports

The class of all finite, time-invariant, linear, passive, lossless networks which have state-equation representations are considered. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the state-equation matrixes to represent such networks are derived, and the consequences of reciprocity and non-reciprocity are brought out.
