MapInteract 2013, the 1st ACM SIGSPATIAL Worskshop on Interacting with Maps was dedicated to discussing systems, methods, algorithms, and studies related to map interaction and interactive maps, and to getting first-hand experiences with prototypes and demonstrations. The overall goal was thus to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in this area, and then to engage in a lively discussion about key challenges and the future of truly interactive maps.
