Spline encoding of speech
A. Arcese · The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America · 1975
In this paper we present the theory and application of cubic spline interpolation, which restores speech samples previously eliminated to lower the transmission rate. Spline interpolation gives us piecewise polynomials that are connected in a continuous manner. Spline interpolation may be performed on speech samples with data arbitrarily eliminated or on the speech zero crossings. Audio tapes will demonstrate speech processed with these algorithms.
