A similarity measure for conceptual graphs

Pe Maher · International Journal of Intelligent Systems · 1993

This article introduces a mechanism to compare two conceptual graphs and produce a similarity measure, reflecting incomplete, imprecise, or inconsistent information. It is then shown that conceptual graphs, in conjunction with the similarity measure, can be effectively used to define concepts by means of a series of examples. the descriptions of these examples provide the basis for a recognition system. Support logic programming is also introduced and it is demonstrated that conceptual graphs, together with the comparison metric, provide a natural knowledge representation framework. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
