A principle for constructing a program complex for the solution of a system of linear algebraic equations is considered.Starting from the properties of the problem, the program complex automatically constructs a computer algorithm for its solution on the basis of the given original information (matrix, right-hand sides, accuracy to which they are given, etc.), solves the problem, collects a postenori informatlon during the process of solving it and, on the basis of a priori and a posteriori information, estlmates how close the machine solution is to the mathematical solution, as well as, in a number of cases, bow close the latter is to the "physical" solution of the problem.
