MONTE CARLO SIMULATIONS ON AND OF TWO-DIMENSIONAL DYNAMICAL LATTICES: A THEORETICAL OVERVIEW

A short review is presented of different projects for regularization of two-dimensional surfaces with lattices. The problems with the emergence of acceptable continuum limits are briefly referred to; the emphasis is on the attempts to saturate the functional measure in the integral over the intrinsic metrics.
