The generation of sound in a Rijke tube using two heating coils
Anthony A. Collyer, D J Ayres · Journal of Physics D Applied Physics · 1972
By using one setting of the positions of two flat, spiral heating coils it is possible to generate only the even harmonics of a Rijke tube. For another setting it is possible to generate only the third, sixth, ninth harmonics, and so on. The experimentally determined positions are in agreement with those predicted from the Rayleigh criterion.
