Image segmentation by binary partition tree

A novel algorithm for image segmentation in a binary partition tree is presented. Using evolute region statistics of merging history, relative redundancy is exploited and a set of salient regions is compiled as a segmentation. The results are compared with ground truths and performance scores indicate image semantics are preserved.
