Figure 1 shows some handwritten digits taken from US envelopes. Each image consists of 16 × 16 pixels of greyscale values ranging from 0 – 255. These 256 pixel values are regarded as a feature vector to be used as input to a classifier, which will automatically assign a digit class based on the pixel values. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
