Modeling animations for dependable interactive applications

Thomas Mirlacher · 2011

While today most parts of a graphical user interface are static, animations are increasingly used. This increase of use can be attributed to the fact that CPU resources remain available after the system's main functions are performed. Additionally, animations have been demonstrated useful to support the users in their understanding of the user interface's behavior and evolutions. However, adding animation significantly increases specification and implementation complexity.
