ATMIQ: active tubes on multiscale image queue

Ryo Furukawa, Masakazu Imai, Takeshi Uno · Systems and Computers in Japan · 1999

Proposed in this paper is a new contour tracking model based on the active contour model. A new image space that is a combination of multiscale image (pyramid image) and spatiotemporal image is introduced. Contour tracking is implemented by applying tubular active contours to this combined space. The proposed model supports consecutive processing of image series, simultaneous acquisition and processing of images, considerable allowance for frame-to-frame shift of target objects, and stable contour tracking by means of continuity constraints imposed on position and speed of edge points. © 1999 Scripta Technica, Syst Comp Jpn, 30(13): 84–95, 1999
