SURVEYING IN THREE DIMENSIONS

A L Allan · Survey Review · 1996

This is the third of a series of articles presenting ideas and methods of surveying which will be of value to students, or practitioners new to the particular applications described. The treatment is deliberately elementary and the examples are simplified so that the various concepts can be developed with darity. Now and then, the editor will enter a word of caution in the text, where he feels that the treatment has been oversimplified or for other reasons. In this article, some special problems of surveying in three dimensions are treated. Once again, the use of Excel spreadsheets for calculation is advocated.
