Segmentation Based Personalized Web Page Summarization Model

The process of web page summarization differsfrom the traditional text summarization due to the inherentfeatures in the structure of web pages comparing withnormal documents. This paper proposes a model for webpage summarization based on the segmentation approach.The proposed model performs an “inclusive summarization” by representing entities from different portions of the web page resulting in the miniature of the original page, termed as “Micro-page”. With the incorporation of personalization in the summarization process, the micro-page can be tailored based on the user preferences. The empirical validation of the proposed model is carried out with the help of prototype implementation which depicts encouraging results.
