Bit-interleaved-space-time code for cooperative diversity

Cooperative communication is a new communication paradigm which generates independent paths between the user and the source by introducing a relay channel. The combination of bit-interleave coded modulation with Space-Time Coding (BI-ST) can provides space and time diversity simultaneously. This paper proposes a novel BI-ST wireless communication scheme (BI-ST-DF) for decode-and-forward (DF) cooperative diversity. The frame of the cooperative network is described and the exact expressions of capacity and bit-error-rate (BER) are deduced for M-PSK modulation over dissimilar Rayleigh fading channels. Numerical results corroborate the analysis results and confirm the effectiveness of the proposed framework.
