Abstract In this Paper, a scenario based on OPNET for Wireless Local Area Networks has been considered and modeled. Then, we have evaluated this model to measure the performance of the wireless local area network in a campus/university environment. Further, our model has been tested for two different types of applications (Mailing and Office) in two sites each comprising of 20 users. After rigorous simulation of this scenario, it is observed that among a set of network parameters Media Access Delay and Load have been highly affected by the number of users per application with and without load balancing. The impact of load balancing and comparative investigation on wireless and wire-line network for two different types of Servers (REMOTE LOGIN and EMAIL) has been showcased using OPNET simulation.
