Radiography and the “Scratch and Win” Lottery Ticket

Lottery tickets bearing a “scratch and win” format were non-destructively examined by a variety of radiographic techniques in order to decipher the hidden prize information underneath the latex layer on the ticket. Tickets bearing prize information under the latex layer printed in an iron oxide ink were found to be decipherable. Radiographs of “scratch and win” lottery tickets are presented. Radiographic equipment and techniques are discussed.
