A Flexible Piezoelectric Material for Hydrophones and Other Dynamic Pressure Transducers
Lyle Pauer · The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America · 1974
A family of flexible piezoelectric materials has been developed and used successfully in several hydrophone designs as well as in other types of dynamic pressure transducers. Polar and frequency responses for the hydrophones are presented. Data from experiments to determine the change in receiving voltage sensitivity with hydrostatic pressure are given. Dielectric, piezoelectric, and mechanical constants of the material have been determined and are compared with piezolelectric materials in general use. Transducer applications other than hydrophones which take into account the unique properties of the material are explored.
