The spatial clustering of QSOs

We have used a new complete redshift survey of ~170 QSOs to investigate QSO clustering. We have determined the QSO clustering correlation function ξqq over the range of separations |$0\lt r \leqslant 1000\,{h}^{-1}$| Mpc (comoving). At small scales |$(0\lt r \leqslant 1000\,{h}^{-1}\,\text{Mpc})$| we have tentatively detected QSO clustering at a level stronger than that expected for galaxies on a simple ‘stable’ model for galaxy clustering evolution. At larger scales |$(10\lt r \leqslant 1000\,{h}^{-1}\,\text{Mpc})$| our observed correlation function is close to zero, placing strong new constraints on the homogeneity of the Universe.
