Managing Human Factors for Success
Arnold M. Lund · Proceedings of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting · 1999
Managing a human factors program successfully requires organizational commitment and resources. Tactics can be defined to help obtain this commitment, and from the commitment the resources. Organizational support, however, can depend upon the impact of the human factors effort on the corporate bottom line. In addition to improving the quality of the work itself, there are political and organizational steps that can be taken to create an environment in which successful efforts are realized. These and related issues that should contribute to the successful management of a human factors program will be discussed.
