The design of partially connected composite open-web joists

A method for calculating the ultimate flexural capacity of a composite open-web joist with partial connection is proposed. If the compression in the top chord of the open-web joist due to partial connection exceeds the buckling capacity of the top chord then the buckling capacity governs the design.
