Intermediate ternary code: a redundancy-reducing runlength code for digital facsimile transmission

U. Rothgordt, G. Renelt · Electronics Letters · 1977

Improvements of the i.t.c. (intermediate ternary code) are presented, which yield a better compression ratio, as well as a higher resistivity to transmission errors, than the original version of the i.t.c. Special attention has been paid to the line synchronisation signal.
