Basic Concepts of Quality Control in the Clinical Histopathology Laboratory
Joyce D. Eaton · Journal of Histotechnology · 1984
Application of Quality Control In the histology laboratory, the final product is the microscopic tissue slide. To achieve an excellent microscopic tissue slide, quality control procedures must be employed in all methods and functions within the histology laboratory. Quality control procedures are necessary from the initial receipt of the specimen, through all stages of accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy and staining. The final product should result in a microscopic tissue slide of the highest quality to ensure a correct diagnosis.
