Weak legislation and a lack of governmental control in the field of IP are among the main reasons for the high rate of computer software piracy in Azerbaijan.Weak legislation and a lack of governmental control in the field of IP are among the main reasons for the high rate of computer software piracy in Azerbaijan. The high rate of computer piracy creates drawbacks in attracting foreign investment and developing the IT sector in Azerbaijan and reduces its chances of successful integration into the European Union. Therefore solutions to the computer software piracy problem in Azerbaijan should be found as a matter of urgency.
