We're moving towards an increasingly mobile-connected world. Even the recently ubiquitous laptop computer is giving way to smartphones and tablet devices. Yet many biometrics-enabled services and solutions are struggling to make this shift. While services we take for granted, such as banking and travel, reinvent themselves as apps on our smartphones, biometric solutions often still depend on dedicated hardware. However, that's showing signs of changing.
