Recently The New Soundtrack revisited Francis Ford Coppola's dazzling, derided 2007 metaphysical puzzle, Youth Without Youth. On May 25, 2011, TNS editors Stephen Deutsch, Larry Sider and Dominic Power were joined in a Skype interview with the film's editor, Walter Murch, and sound designer, Pete Horner, to discuss the sonic layers of Coppola's exploration of ‘time, sex, language and destiny.’ The following is an edited transcript of the conversation that followed.
