Bosons in an Electromagnetic Field

R. G. Moorhouse · Physical Review · 1949

The interaction representation for bosons of spin 0 or 1 in an electromagnetic field is given, using $\ensuremath{\beta}$-matrix theory. The gauge invariance of the scheme is proved. The photon self-energy is shown to be zero, and the meson self-energy is evaluated. The vacuum polarization is evaluated for a particular representation of the $\ensuremath{\beta}$-matrices.
