Analysis of systems with known transmission-frequency characteristics by Fourier integrals
W. L. Sullivan · Electrical Engineering · 1942
LINEAR SYSTEMS in the general transient state may be analyzed effectively by means of the operational calculus, the Laplace transforms, or the Fourier transforms. Preceding articles in this series have introduced the operational calculus,1the Laplace transforms,3and certain essential mathematical ideas and processes pertaining to the manipulation of functions of a complex variable.2The emphasis thus far has been on the analysis of systems involving known configurations of concentrated elements (resistance, inductance, and capacitance).
