More on the re‐creation of source code from reverse polish

Peter J. B. Brown · Software Practice and Experience · 1977

Abstract A convenient way of processing BASIC and other interactive, incremental languages is to maintain the program in reverse Polish notation or the like, and to re‐create the source from this if needed. The properties of various algorithms for performing this re‐creation are examined, and a new algorithm, offering good generality and conciseness, is presented.
