A method for calculating Fourier transforms i s presented which capitalizes on the similarity between the Pourier transfom integral an6 the canvolution integral.The method i s implemented by an efficient d i g i t a l computer code, which uses a d i g i t a l simulation of a sine-cosine f i l t e r .Although t h i s method i s mathmatically equivalent t o a direct numerical calculation of the Fourier transform, it takes about me-third the time required for the direct integration.The code has been used extensively for calculating frequency respanse fLzractions f r o m pulse response t e s t data and from crosa-and auto-correlation functions.
