Electrical Discharge through a Sheet of Paper and an Application to Transcribing Printed Letters

Lichtenberg's figures of discharges passing through a sheet of paper were investigated using the parallel-plate condenser apparatus shown in Fig. 1. An attempt was made to use this phenomenon to transcribe printed letters onto photographic film or copper plate.
