Computer-controlled vibrating capacitor technique for determining work function
Janusz Baczyński · Review of Scientific Instruments · 1988
Another technical variation of the Kelvin method and a computer circuit are described for the measurements of the work function or its changes by the vibrator capacitor. The measuring technique of the contact potential difference is based on the detection of the signal phase shift from the vibrating capacitor by a time analyzer. The present technique allows one to obtain precise results and simultaneously to use the capacitor which does not meet high constructional requirements. The described circuit is incorporated into an autonomous CAMAC system which is joined with the Amstrad/Schneider 6128 microcomputer.
