Noise and the choice of antenna in HF communications

Christopher John Coleman · 2006

A directional noise model is coupled with propagation and antenna models in order to investigate the performance of various HF antennas in the receive mode. It is shown that the directional aspects of noise can dictate a quite different choice of antenna from one based on purely gain considerations.
