Wave digital filters with reduced number of delays
Alfred Fettweis · International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications · 1974
Abstract A method is described which allows one to design wave digital filters with a reduced number of excess delays. It consists in first multiplying all impedances of the original LC‐filter either by ϕ = tanh (pT/2) or by 1/ϕ, similar to what has been proposed by Bruton, although for different reasons, for active filter design. The restrictions inherent in this latter case do not apply, but some structures are preferable over others. The excellent sensitivity properties of wave digital filters still hold; they can again be proved directly by a modification of the earlier concepts of pseudopower, pseudopassivity, and pseudo‐losslessness.
