Proposal concerning high-density digital recording

The sign of the nonlinear intersymbol interference or peak shift is opposite for the longitudinal and perpendicular modes of recording. It is proposed, therefore, that more attention be paid to the potential of high-density recording on media in which the anisotropy axis is neither longitudinal nor perpendicular but rather oblique.>
