Scaling Responses to Graded Opportunities
Raymond H. Franzen · Public Opinion Quarterly · 1950
As a tool for studying common factors, scales have several advantages over factor analysis. Common types of scales include those based on intensity alone, those based on intensity and content simultaneously, those differentiating between intensity and content, and those the content of which is made up of responses to graded opportunities. Some of the advantages and disadvantages of these types are discussed. The author is a statistical consultant in New York City.
