Suppose #i and # 2 are complex Banach spaces with u θ1 , u n in «^(36i), v 6 =^(#2), and suppose (x) is a uniform crossnorm.The spectra of the operators Σ?=o % ® v* on 36 X (g) # 2 and R: x -> 2?=o UjXv J , x e ^(X 2 ,36i), are studied in the context of a general theory.Explicit representations are set down for the resolvents of these and more general operators.
