Creating advanced mobility models with LEMMA

Alexander P. Pelov, Thomas Noël · Spring Simulation Multiconference · 2009

In this paper we introduce an open-source multiagent microsimulator implementing the Layered Mobility Model Architecture (LEMMA) [1]. Its design is described briefly, along with several examples of layers that have been implemented. Even though the number of layer descriptions is limited, we have introduced 8 layers, allowing the creation of 16 unique mobility models. Moreover, we have detailed the architecture of the microsimulator itself, describing its core modules and their relations. We have illustrated its usage with the help of several examples. The creation of advanced mobility models is also discussed, including the creation of hybrid or group models, or executing cooperative simulations with ns-3. The source code is freely available at the following address: http://mobilitymodels.org/lemma
