Network access to massive seismic datasets

J. Kingston, G. Davies · Proceedings · 1996

Throughout the history of seismic exploration, limitations of the recording media have restricted the products that can be made available to the Interpretation Geophysicist in the timeframe required. Recent technological advances in the storage and movement of data make a wide range of attributes of the seismic and related in formation more accessible to the Geophysicist which will enhance the timely identification and exploitation of hydrocarbon reservoirs. This paper presents an overview of the new tools available and the benefits that these will bring throughout the life cycle of seismic data.
