A matrix extension problem with entropy optimization
Bernd Fritzsche, Bernd Kirstein · Optimization · 1988
An extension problem for partial Hermitian block matrices (some blocks specified, some free) is treated. The set of all solutions is represented as a matrix bail. The extension problem is associated with an entropy maximization procedure. The maximum of entropy is realized in the center of the permissible matrix ball. Some interesting applications are discussed.
